Is this version of islam you present a milder version of the current version?

Yes very much so. The current version has become very ugly and is a severe corruption of the original. I’m trying to find the original and return to it.

Where have today’s Muslims gone wrong?

Firstly, the Main issue is that the many ignorant and poisonous clergy (especially government funded sheikhs) have been presenting the creator as an evil dictator whom if you don’t obey he will put you in hell. And completely ignoring the aspect of love or happiness in life.  Second, the word kafir is not understood correctly. It doesn’t mean someone who doesn’t believe. But someone who denies the truth after being presented it and knowing it is the truth but denying it on the outside. So someone who doesn’t know about the truth of an issue and so doesn’t believe in it is not a kafir. The majority of people do not know (Jahil in Arabic).  Thirdly, people are of at least three types not two. It’s not either muslim or kafir but either Believer, Jahil or kafir. And the majority are in the Jahil ( don’t know) category. So it’s wrong to accuse someone who doesn’t know the truth that he is a kafir.
